This Advanced Skills workshop is for attorneys who have completed the Foundational Skills course, and who would like to continue to expand their interpersonal effectiveness. The training focuses on increasing the attorney’s ability to engage in moment-to-moment tracking of a client’s emotional states; to recognize facial microexpressions that reveal nonverbal (and often hidden) beliefs and intentions; to “hear” and respond to the emotional meaning underneath client communications; and to co-regulate and resource clients who have experienced trauma. This is a challenging and experiential training; as such, attendance will be capped in order to optimize participants’ learning.
